Review: nutbar x cymbiotika

JUNE 2024

In my humble and honest opinion, I give great advice. Why is that you ask? Because I always say what I’m actually thinking. This extends to everything here on the blog, including – and perhaps especially – reviews.

I recently tried nutbar’s collab with Cymbiotika in their Cherry Immune Boost smoothie: Cymbiotika liposomal elderberry pouch, cherries, camu camu, banana, dates, sea moss gel and nutbar’s very own “barmilk.” I love a good collab (in theory) but usually end up sticking to what I know. This one, however, particularly caught my eye for the skin and immune benefits from the liposomal, elderberry, cherries, and sea moss gel.

Overall, this smoothie fell extremely short for me. I found it to be surprisingly sour, the protein powder distorted the texture (and some of the taste) and, let’s call it what it is – an even 20 bucks for something I could make better myself. Yes, all of these ingredients are exceptional individually and sure, it’s nice to buy into the whole aesthetic, but take it from me and recreate it yourself.

If you do go to nutbar and do want to add protein to your smoothie, at least make sure it’s one that’ll blend smoothly with the powder – my friend got the Chocolate and it was much better than mine. As for me, I’m going to return to my tried and tested recipes, even if that means staying home.

Have you tried this collab? What did you think? Tell me in the comments!
